Core Focus: Postnatal
Matrescence—the transformative journey into motherhood—helped me understand my own experience with postpartum anxiety and mood disorder, inspiring me to support others. Through 'Seesaw Studio,' which I founded in Taiwan, I aim to raise awareness of this journey across the country.
About
Hi, I’m ChiaYi from Taiwan. I’m a mom to a son and daughter, a former counseling teacher, and I’ve also been a full-time mom. I went through severe postpartum depression and used to feel a lot of guilt about it until I learned about the concept of matrescence. That’s when I realized that becoming a mother is one of the most challenging transformations in life. Later, I noticed that many of my friends also struggled with postpartum emotional challenges. This inspired me to help more mothers who experience this profound life change after childbirth. I founded an organization in Taiwan called "Seesaw Studio" to support new moms, aiming to help people across Taiwan better understand the concept of matrescence. Through this understanding, I hope they can adopt a fresh perspective, empathize with, and support mothers in a new and meaningful way.
