About

Hi, I'm Eliane, and I’m a trained Matrescence Coach, Facilitator & Activist, Mama Rising Graduate and Postgraduate Student of Trinity College Dublin. In my former life I used to love managing Galleries and working alongside artists of all trades. But my biggest job for the last decade has been being a Mama!

And I've struggled with the many contradicting feelings of joy and loss, peace and anger, happiness and guilt a lot on my Matrescence journey. It can be confusing and overwhelming, and it can feel like all you can do is keep your head above water.

I also think this process of Becoming, of being 'birthed anew' as the mother, is never over. And I think especially mamas who have been mothering for years can suffer from poor mental health. Stuck in survival mode, feeling depleted and unseen.

So… the Sane Mama was born. A space to start a conversation on how we can move from survival mode into a more joyful and brave life as mamas. A space to bring some of my ideas to life, through workshops, writings and events.

Originally from Germany, I live in Dublin, Ireland, with my two sons, my husband and a sneaky black cat. I love tea, foxes, the mountains and their smell, water, ancient Irish wells and the sea. I've also recently rediscovered my love of inline-skating, and adore embodiment like dancing and ‘The Class’ workouts.

I have set up ‘The Sane Mama’ in Dublin, where I will offer in-person workshops for mamas who feel stuck in survival mode, depleted or burnt out, especially years after having had their first child. Digging deep into matrescence, I use embodiment and mental healing tools to peal back its many layers and offer mamas support on their own matrescence journey, and in re-discovering themselves and who they want to be as a woman and mother in this world.

I am also starting to organise community events to include Health Care Professionals and start discussing matrescence and its implications on a bigger platform in Ireland.

I have also started a project very close to my heart called ‘Insane Mama Moments’ where I am collecting anonymous stories of shame, secrets and guilt from mamas of all walks of life, to culminate in an exhibition in the future.
