Mama Rising® is a unique and trademarked coaching training that empowers and equips you to support a woman's experience of becoming and being a mother, whether that's in pregnancy, postpartum, in the workplace or in the community.

What is Matrescence?

First described by Dana Raphael in the 1970s, and then recently resurrected by Dr Aurelie Athan at Columbia University, Matrescence is the groundbreaking and revolutionary way we now understanding what happens to a woman when she becomes a mother.
Matrescence changes the way we support a mother that finally acknowledges the physical, emotional, psychological, cultural and personal changes she goes through.
And at Mama Rising, we believe Matrescence has the power to change the way we see, value and support women through mother...

In other words, it's a revolution in the way the world values and supports women's transition into and through motherhood.

Meet Amy Taylor-Kabbaz
Hay House author, journalist, international award-winning coach + Matrescence Activist. Amy has spent more than a decade trying to find ways to stop the overwhelm of modern motherhood (and taking it out on her family) and she is here to show you exactly what works.
As a producer with more than 15 years experience at the ABC, Amy brings the research and dedication of a journalist to the passion of an anthropologist and coach. Since 2013, she has trained as an Internationally Accredited Life Coach, Post-Natal Yoga teacher, and Meditation facilitator. With an Honours Degree in International Studies and a Graduate Certificate in International Development focusing on empowering women in the developing world, she has always been focused on women: why the world views them in a particular way, and what they can do about it.
In 2020, Amy created 'Mama Rising', a Facilitator Training program empowering women who work and support mothers around the world in her unique insights into Matrescence, and how to take the research and support mothers differently.
For too long, we have ignored the needs of the mama, at a great cost.
We are in the middle of an epidemic of burn out, post-natal depression, overwhelm and comparison.
